Palliative care is a team approach provided by doctors, nurses, social workers and other specialists who work together with a patient’s other doctors to provide an extra layer of support. It is appropriate at any age and at any stage in a serious illness and can be provided along with curative treatment.Palliative Care

 

Clinical Services

Our faculty and staff provide access to palliative care at UW Medicine both in the inpatient and outpatient settings. If you or your loved one would like to request palliative care while hospitalized, please ask your primary medical or surgical team. If you would like to receive outpatient palliative care, you can contact the numbers listed below for each of our respective sites.

Quality Improvement

We strive to continuously improve the quality of care that we offer through:

  • Implementing educational curriculum for palliative care fellows;
  • Mentoring interdisciplinary learner quality improvement (QI) projects; and
  • Launching QI dashboards for care quality monitoring and improvement.

Collaboration

We work with a wide variety of interdisciplinary clinical team members, including clinicians, NPs, medical students, and other trainees. Please contact us if you are interested in collaborating on QI initiatives!
