Palliative care is a team approach provided by doctors, nurses, social workers and other specialists who work together with a patient’s other doctors to provide an extra layer of support. It is appropriate at any age and at any stage in a serious illness and can be provided along with curative treatment.
Our faculty and staff provide access to palliative care at UW Medicine both in the inpatient and outpatient settings. If you or your loved one would like to request palliative care while hospitalized, please ask your primary medical or surgical team. If you would like to receive outpatient palliative care, you can contact the numbers listed below for each of our respective sites.
