The J. Randall curtis palliative care conference

We are excited to announce the upcoming, 2025 J. Randall Curtis Palliative Care Conference, a hybrid event designed to bring together diverse voices across disciplines for a dynamic and collaborative experience in palliative and neuropalliative care. Join us on Thursday, November 13 for an in-person lecture and networking event at the University of Washington - Montlake campus followed by a 6-hour virtual conference on Friday, November 14.

This year’s conference will feature a rich, interactive format, beginning with a plenary session to set the tone for in-depth exploration through two rounds of breakout sessions. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in focused discussions on key topics and foster meaningful collaboration. A panel discussion will spotlight a range of expert perspectives, and a second plenary session will explore emerging trends and innovations in the field.

We are thrilled to welcome our keynote speakers:

Dr. Maisha T. Robinson

Dr. Maisha T. Robinson, MD, MSHPM, FAAN, FAAHPM

An Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology at Mayo Clinic in Florida, with a joint appointment in the Department of Medicine. Upon joining the staff of Mayo Clinic, she established the clinic’s first neuropalliative care program and she currently serves as the Division Chair of Palliative Medicine, as the Chair of the Community Relations Committee, and as the Chair of the Ethics Subcommittee

Dr. Ashlee R. Loughan

Dr. Ashlee R. Loughan, PhD, LCP

A clinical neuropsychologist and associate professor within the School of Medicine at Virginia Commonwealth University and Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center. Throughout her tenure, she has steadily pursued a commitment to excellence in patient centered neuro-oncological care and practice-changing research.

Their insights will help frame our conversations and inspire continued growth and integration in the field.

We encourage participation from all healthcare professionals and community members—whether you practice primary palliative care or specialize in the field. We especially welcome colleagues from across the WWAMI region, as we aim to foster a diverse, inclusive dialogue that spans the full scope of palliative and neuropalliative care.

The conference will include both broadly applicable palliative care content and sessions specifically focused on neuropalliative care, ensuring something of value for every attendee.

Interested in leading a small group breakout session?

We are currently accepting applications (Due June 6) to lead these focused discussions. This is a great opportunity to share your expertise and engage your peers in meaningful dialogue.
