Dear Cambia Palliative Care Center of Excellence Community,

As spring turns towards summer, I find myself reflecting on the many ways our community continues to grow, evolve, and strengthen its impact across education, clinical care, and research. This issue of the CPCCE newsletter highlights both longstanding programs that continue to thrive and newer initiatives that reflect the creativity and dedication of colleagues across our Center and partner institutions.

This year marks the 10-year anniversary of the Palliative Care Training Certificate Program, an important milestone for a program that has helped train and connect clinicians from across disciplines and care settings. We are proud of the community that has formed around this program over the past decade and are grateful to the faculty, staff, and learners who have contributed to its success. In this issue, we also share updates on two educational initiatives, PedsTalk and NeuroTalk, which are expanding opportunities for communication skills training in pediatric and neuropalliative care.

We are also excited to highlight several clinical and systems-based initiatives across UW Medicine. At Harborview Medical Center, the relaunch of the End-of-Life Committee reflects a renewed commitment to thoughtful, interdisciplinary care for patients with serious illness and to supporting the clinicians who care for them. We also celebrate the accomplishments of the 3 Wishes Program at UWMC-Montlake, whose work continues to bring compassion, dignity, and human connection to patients and families during difficult moments.

Our research community remains active and collaborative. This issue features a spotlight on Dr. Crystal Brown, announcements of new research awards, recent publications from Center investigators, and upcoming opportunities to connect at national meetings and conferences. I remain inspired by the breadth of work being done across the Center and by the many ways our members are advancing the science and practice of palliative care.

Please reach out if you have ideas for future newsletters. We would love to hear from you.

Erin
