Summer '25 Newsletter

Dear Cambia Palliative Care Center of Excellence Community,
Welcome to the summer edition of our newsletter! I hope this season brings you a chance to enjoy the long days, the (mostly) clear skies and sunshine, and spend time doing things you love.
Here at the Center, we’re looking ahead to the J. Randall Curtis Palliative Care Conference this November. In this issue, you’ll find an update about the conference with an invitation to submit research abstracts as part of this year’s program. Registration for the conference will open soon. We will send a separate announcement when registration opens. While the conference will highlight innovations in neuropalliative care, we are also building in plenty of content relevant to all members of the palliative care community. We hope you’ll join us for this gathering of clinicians, researchers, educators, and community members committed to advancing palliative care.
We’re also celebrating some wonderful transitions and recognitions. Dr. Laura Buck has been appointed the new Program Director for the UW Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship—an important leadership role in shaping the next generation of palliative care clinicians. We are grateful to Dr. Annie Hirano for her many years in service in this role and are glad she will remain a member of our UW faculty and community of educators. We also recognize several recent faculty promotions and appointments that reflect the excellence and dedication of our colleagues throughout the region.
