Congrats to Dr. Rashmi Sharma on New Funding

We are proud to announce that Rashmi Sharma, MD, MHS, associate professor (General Internal Medicine) and CPCCE Director of EDI, has received a 5-year, $3.3 million R01 from NIH/NIA for her project “Understanding and Improving Inequities in Palliative Care for Older Adults with Advanced Dementia and Limited-English Proficiency: A Mixed-Methods Evaluation.”
The study uses mixed methods to identify barriers to palliative care for older adults with dementia who have limited-English proficiency (LEP) and their families. The study will focus on Latinx, Chinese, and Vietnamese populations with LEP. DOM co-investigators are Drs. J. Randall Curtis and Ruth Engelberg.
