Welcome Dr. Erin Kross as CPCCE Co-Director

We are proud to announce Erin Kross, MD, in her new role as Co-Director of Cambia Palliative Care Center of Excellence. Erin is an outstanding clinician, researcher, mentor, and educator, and we are confident that the addition of her leadership will help us continue to increase our impact in promoting palliative care.

Dr. Kross is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine at the University of Washington. She is a pulmonary, critical care, and palliative care physician at Harborview Medical Center at UW Medicine. She came to the University of Washington in 2005 for her pulmonary and critical care fellowship training and joined the faculty in 2010. 

Since 2016, she has been the Director of Research Training at CPCCE, and, along with Drs. Curtis and Rosenberg, she directs a T32 award from NHBLI for post-doctoral research training in palliative care. She has developed active research and quality improvement programs which focus on improving palliative care for patients with serious illness and their families, with current funding from National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, the National Institute of Aging, and the American Lung Association. She has also been an active educator in palliative care for students, residents, fellows, practicing physicians and many members of the interprofessional team.
